Gatecon UK : The short story ! 

Thursday Oct 18^th 2007: After 3 hours of German lesson, 2 hours on the train, 2 hours on the plan, many many hours waiting in train station and airport and a bit less then an hour in a bus I finally arrive at Reading, which is pronounced like the color red… by the way ;o) ! There I meet Richard and co, Elaine, Mike and some people I remember seeing at other con but don’t remember their name and I meet new people among them Marisa who happens to be Michael’s girlfriend but I didn’0t know at that time ! (Cliff Simon and Michael Welch are at the party too. ). After the meet and great party, we (Mike, Michael and a few girls) go to a night club… where we get a bit drunk ;o) ! A cute very drunk guy hits a bit on me repeatedly… after a while Michael asked me if the guy was annoying me and offered to kick his ass… I thought it was cute… and funny, Michael being only 20 ;o) !! 

Friday Oct 19^th 2007: After a very short night (about 4 hours) I go to the opening ceremony. The panels start. (Michael Welch, Suane Brown, Cliff Simon). JR Bourne arrives in the afternoon for the pictures session. And Colin arrives on time for the banquet! At the banquet the table I am sitting at is full, which means… no actor can sit there… we all realize it’s a bad idea, but no one wants to leave the table… so I do… and manage to sit beside JR ;o) ! He’s on my right… and Suane Brown ends up sitting on my left… so I have to guests at my table ;o) !!! Yoohoo ;o) ! Colin does some amazing magic tricks… we all are stunned ! Especially Suane, JR and Michael! We have a lot of fun! 

Saturday Oct 20^th 2007: The panels go on, Colin shows us his short movie (Centigrade) and in the evening we have the auction. There we get the great news from Paul Brown himself by phone about RDA coming to Gatecon next summer !!! Yoohoo again !!! Especially for those who already have bought a ticket ;o) !!! They have a break in the middle of the auction and show the rugby game on the big screen (England VS South Africa). Cliff and Suane are South African… the atmosphere is quite funny ;o) !! After the game the auction continues and again Colin and JR end up without their t-shirts ;o) !!! Later Colin had a great news by e-mail, his film was accepted at the Santa Fee film festival ! At about 2am Michael and some of us go across the street to get some Pizzas. Colin thinks we are pretty weird ;o) !!!  

Sunday Oct 21^st 2007: Cliff and JR are gone, they had to leave in the morning for work. During his panel, Michael does a great, amazing and funny show on Bohemian Rhapsody ;o) ! We have some more fun ! In the evening we party again ! 

Monday Oct 22^nd 2007: I have breakfast with Mike and after packing go shopping. In the afternoon I go back to Heathrow with Elaine, I try and change my flight to an earlier one, but they refuse… so I have to wait 4 hours in the airport. The plane arrives late at Zurich and I miss the last direct plane to my place ! So I end up arriving home at 1 am (and I have to get up at 6:30 to go to the German lesson)… but I had a great week-end ;o) !!!
